Carolyn Rice was full of compassion and had a gift for healing, making a career in physical therapy a natural choice. Graduating from the University of Kansas in 1972 with a degree in Physical Therapy, she embarked on a remarkable career spanning over 35 years, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of her patients, friends, and community. Even when she had long been retired and was facing her own health challenges, she would often insist on taping a friend’s knee or adjusting a neighbor’s back, dedicated to alleviating pain in those around her.

Through the Carolyn Rice Scholarship Endowment for Exercise Science, Carolyn's spirit will continue to inspire future generations of healers, instilling in them the values of compassion, resilience, and dedication. Nearly every undergraduate student receives some form of financial aid when they attend Saint Martin's. The University awards nearly $20 million each year in financial aid. Private support of student scholarships enables Saint Martin's to continue awarding financial aid grants to make a Saint Martin's education accessible.

The Dr. Steve Fulton Memorial Scholarship was established to honor Dr. Fulton's legacy in the hearts and minds of his students. The scholarship will be awarded to deserving students studying science at Saint Martin's University with the intent of going into a health-related field. Dr. Fulton taught as a biology professor for 27 years. His students were his inspiration and joy in this life. His work as a professor touched the lives of many and the memories of his students became a beautiful part of his soul.

Fr. John Scott, O.S.B. '67, a man who devoted most of his adult life to the promotion of and advancement of Saint Martin's was known as "Mr. Saint Martin's" to much of the outside community. In 1975, at thirty years old, Fr. John was named president of Saint Martin’s College. At that time, he was the youngest college president in the United States.

Gifts to the Fr. Kilian Malvey O.S.B. Scholarship Endowment support students who are faced with challenges in adjusting to college life but who, nonetheless, demonstrate an innate talent for leadership and service to others as well as enthusiasm for Saint Martin’s mission.

During his many years of teaching at Saint Martin’s University, Fr. Kilian has helped thousands of students in special ways through academic mentorship, spiritual guidance and genuine friendship. In service to the University, he has held a variety of key administrative and faculty positions: Dean of Students, Registrar, Director of Residence, Director of Campus Ministry, Faculty President and interim University Co-President. He also received the Outstanding Teacher Award.

Longtime, retired Director of Athletics Bob Grisham passed away from a sudden aneurism on Sunday, Jan. 22, 2023. For more than 37 years, Grisham was a champion for athletics at Saint Martin’s University, the local community, and the athletic conference at large.

The Grisham Legacy Fund was a scholarship endowment first created in 2021 to celebrate Bob's retirement. The fund provides scholarships for the 250+ student athletes at Saint Martin's University.

Gifts to the Port Angeles Alumni Scholarship will support students who are members of Native American tribes in Clallam County. If no students from a tribe are attending, then the scholarship may be awarded to a student from Port Angeles, Clallam County or the wider Olympic Peninsula.
